Responsibility and purpose

Les Immeubles E. Tassé is committed to carefully manage and safeguard the personal information of its tenants, customers, employees, and all others whose data it may possess.

The aim of this policy is to protect the privacy of people when collecting, sharing, anonymizing, storing, and/or destroying information.

Our privacy officers, who are responsible for safeguarding personal data, must take all necessary steps to protect such information while following internal practices and procedures.

They are also responsible for addressing and responding to privacy queries and complaints. We will contact the affected party and the CAI if there is an incident or leak involving personal data.

Access to personal information

At Les Immeubles E. Tassé, access to personal information is given only to team members whose duties require it. We have internal mechanisms to ensure staff and volunteers access only the data they need to do their jobs. Access levels are determined for each staff position.

Consent – collection and use of personal data

The personal information we collect from you (or from third parties, with your consent) is required to provide the services you need.

This data is strictly necessary for the file and is obtained through lawful means only. Such personal data must first be collected directly from you (subject to exceptions prescribed by law), and we may get it from third parties only with your consent. When we do obtain it from a third party, the information’s source is entered on file.

Les Immeubles E. Tassé may collect data such as your full name, email address, postal address, phone number, and, if you’re applying for a job, your resume and employment history.

When hiring employees and trainees, we may ask for personal information such as first and last name, postal address, SIN, bank information, and emergency contacts.

We might also collect data from customers and suppliers for billing and financial reasons (billing address, email, bank information, payment data, etc.).

Protecting and securing your personal information

Databases and computers are password-protected, and only persons designated by Les Immeubles E. Tassé may access them. We also use two-factor authentication to log onto platforms. We restrict file access to concerned parties only.

Personal data is stored in locked offices and we securely destroy paper documents.

On request only, we will provide authorities with information they need to comply with directives or regulations as required by law.

While Les Immeubles E. Tassé takes security measures to protect personal data and reduce the risk of breach, some risk will always remain. If you have reason to think personal data has been compromised, you must immediately notify our privacy officers.

Storing, destroying, and anonymizing personal data

Les Immeubles E. Tassé will securely store personal data, anonymize it, and destroy it once it has served its purpose and reached the end of its minimum retention period prescribed by law.

Access to personal information

It is important to notify Les Immeubles E. Tassé of any changes to your personal information.

Under law, individuals may request access to their personal information and make corrections when needed.

Any person may request access to their personal information, make corrections thereto, ask that their consent be withdrawn to use or disclose said data, and submit a portability request.

We are required to follow up on requests to access, modify, or withdraw consent to use or disclose personal information or data. To make such a request, please write to our privacy officers at info@etasse.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Complaints process

Any person dissatisfied with the way Les Immeubles E. Tassé has managed, collected, used, or disclosed personal information, or who feels it has done so unlawfully, may file a complaint with our privacy officers at info@etasse.com. You must provide sufficient detail for us to address your complaint. We will notify you of our progress or findings within 30 days of receiving your complaint.
